Seems simple—just plug in your old router and away you go! But wait—the majority of the calls we get are related to router and WiFi issues, so it is worth the time to research it now and get it right!
The most important thing is to check to see if your router is Gigabit-capable: If it is more than a few years old, it likely can’t handle speeds over 100 Mbps and so you won’t be able to use the 300 Mbps (or faster) speeds that USI Fiber delivers.
Want to keep it simple? Rent one from us and we fully support it and you will always have the latest and greatest. If you want to purchase your own, we recommend that you get a Dual-Band, Gigabit-capable wireless router that is Gigabit-capable over WiFi.
Note: We will not be able to troubleshoot and support third-party routers.
